Lao Xi Noodle House - Authentic Chinese Noodles in Arcadia, CA

Probably one of the best places for noodles. I ordered a House special beef noodle. The beef was super tender and the broth was very flavorful but not overwhelming. Went for a quick lunch so no wait and food came out very quick. Would definitely go back to try something else.

Came here for lunch at around 1pm and there was no wait for a seat so that was great. We ordered the House Special Fried Noodle w/ Fried Boiled Pork Knife Cut Style (15.50), Wife Special Noodle (15.50), Special Beef Noodle Soup spicy (16.99), and Green Onion Pancake (7.99). As our first time here, we ordered quite a lot for only 3 people after seeing how delicious they looked in the menu. The food was served one after another in about 20 minutes. The beef noodles was served last. All the dishes were good but my favorite was the knife cut noodles and the wife noodles. The knife cut noodles had a unique flavor but did get a bit greasy as it sat there longer while we ate the other dishes. The wife noodles tasted more like tomatoes but it was pretty good. All the noodles had good texture and were flavorful but not salty. The beef noodles tasted just average for being the most expensive dish. Note that it said it is spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. As for the green onion pancake, it was crispy and authentic tasting. The portions for all of them were all reasonable for the price. They were quite generous with the amount of meat for the dishes. I did not really like the texture of the beef in the noodle soup though. Also lots of noodles! We had leftovers to take home at the end even though we tried to eat as much as we could. This noodle place overall feels authentic and homey. The service is great and I believe it is family run. I can see how they have been opened for so long. I would definitely come back again for lunch or takeout! Support small businesses!

Been on my list for a while and finally came in on a Saturday for lunch. The noodles were to die for! I got the special with three toppings and it was so perfect and delicious. The meat sauce and tomato egg brought back my childhood memories the nostalgia! The beef cubes were so tender and flavorful. The noodles are perfectly al dente with a little bite. Not to mention the bowl is huge! This place is legit! The dumplings were good as well but I prefer some of the other SGV greats. Service is quick and friendly. No wait when I went around 1pm. This is now my go to when I get noodle cravings!

The owners of this restaurant were featured in the Worth It Noodles episode on YouTube, and the food was definitely worth it. The Wife’s special noodle and beef noodle soup are the two most popular menu items, and they are both delicious, filling, and satisfying. The owners are super friendly and treat you like family. The interior is beautiful and clean. The noodles also come out very fast and are very affordable. Highly recommended for a quick and quality meal.

Wonderful atmosphere, great food! Went here after a very long walk at The Arboretum in Arcadia. Nourishing eats that didn’t disappoint. My friend had the lamb soup with cat and glass noodle, I had the cold sesame noodles. My noodles were amazing, I took them spicy, right amount of heat. My friends lamb soup had black fungi, potatoes, glass noodles, cat ear noodles, and lamb. I’m not a lamb fan but I tried some and it was very flavorful. My friend’s lamb soup raved on and on about it. Brought home leftovers of her soup and my sauce. Did someone say seconds? I’m from Pennsylvania, but if I lived around here I’d be back again soon! Thank you Oh and the spring onion pancakes were delicious!!!

The food here was delicious, especially the noodles and cold dishes. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and efficient, though it could be a little more attentive at times. The atmosphere was very nice and comfortable, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. Overall, a great dining experience—I would definitely come back again.

We were recommended this spot and it absolutely delivered. The standout dish for us was the Wife’s Special Noodles, especially when mixed with the braised beef. The flavors were deep, comforting, and well balanced, and the beef added richness that really elevated the dish. Easily our favorite of the meal. We also ordered the Persian cucumber appetizer, which was crisp, refreshing, and packed with flavor. The dumplings were excellent as well. Both the pork and shrimp and pork and leek dumplings were very juicy, with wrappers that were just right, not too thick or too thin. The atmosphere is simple and casual. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Service was a tier above what you typically expect at a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Attentive, efficient, and friendly without being overbearing. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall, a strong recommendation and a place I will definitely be coming back to when I’m craving noodles or dumplings.

The best noodles I have ever had! They were perfect in every way. This is real fresh homemade food, not reheated. We will be back every chance we get.
